Our kids are hooligans!
Kids can be unpredictable, but I have experience in working with children of all ages and temperaments. I’ll use a variety of techniques to engage and entertain your kids during the shoot. We’ll do things such as playing games, having them show me their favourite toys or their pet, or simply chatting with them. We can also aim to schedule the shoot at a time when your kids are most likely to be well-rested and in good spirits. We can do a family shoot outdoors or in-home if that’s easier! Keep in mind that some of the best photos come from capturing the spontaneous, playful moments that happen when kids are being themselves.
We don’t know what to wear to a shoot!
No problem! I can offer a pre-shoot consultation where we can discuss your style preferences, the location of the shoot, and any other relevant factors that will influence your outfit choice. With children, try to pick an outfit that you know your child is comfortable in, that doesn’t pinch or itch them in anyway, and try to avoid patterns that are too busy in nature Keep in mind that the most important thing is to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident!
We don’t know where to go for a shoot!
That’s fine! I’ve lived in St. John’s, Newfoundland for most of my life so I know lots of locations! I’m happy to suggest a variety of locations for your shoot based on your preferences and the vibe of the shoot you’re looking for. We can discuss factors such as lighting, scenery, and privacy to find a location that meets your needs, or we can just hang out in the comfort of your own home. If you do have a specific location in mind, we can work together to ensure that it’s a good fit for the shoot and that we can capture the shots you’re looking for.
A photoshoot sounds TERRIBLE!
First, ouch! But I understand that not everyone loves being in front of the camera. I promise to make the experience as fun and stress-free as possible. I use a variety of techniques to help my clients feel relaxed and comfortable during the shoot, such as providing guidance and prompts, playing music, and encouraging laughter and movement. I aim to create a friendly, laid-back atmosphere where you can feel at ease and enjoy the experience. Keep in mind that the end result will be beautiful photos that you can cherish for years to come!
